• IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (city/region level)
• Pages visited, time spent on the site, and interactions with our tools (via Google Analytics)
• Timestamps of submissions

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate your Floor Finder report and Quote Checker assessment
• Connect you with HardFlooring Verified retailers who can provide a comparison quote or measure-and-quote, where you have requested this
• Respond to enquiries you send us
• Improve our tools, content and the accuracy of our recommendations
• Maintain records of submissions for quality assurance and dispute resolution
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Who We Share Your Information With

When you use the Quote Checker and request a comparison quote, we share the information you provide — including your contact details, the assessment generated, and any quote document you uploaded — with:

• The HardFlooring Verified retailer(s) relevant to your location, so they can contact you with a comparison or measure-and-quote
• HardFlooring's internal team (operating under the contact info.floorcommand@gmail.com) for record-keeping and quality assurance

We use the following third-party service providers, who may process your information on our behalf:

• Resend — for sending transactional emails (e.g. your Floor Report, Quote Checker results, retailer notifications)
• Anthropic (Claude API) — to analyse uploaded quotes and generate Floor Finder recommendations. Uploaded documents and your inputs are sent to this service for processing
• Stripe — for processing retailer subscription payments (this does not apply to homeowner users)
• Google Analytics — for understanding site usage
• Our hosting provider (GoDaddy) — where submitted data, reports and uploaded files are stored

4. Storage and Security

Information submitted via the Floor Finder and Quote Checker — including your contact details, the assessment generated, and any uploaded quote documents — is stored on our secure hosting servers. Uploaded quote files and the corresponding assessment report are stored together for record-keeping purposes.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Retention

We retain personal information and uploaded documents for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including responding to follow-up enquiries, resolving disputes, and complying with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 8).

6. Uploaded Quote Documents

If you upload a flooring quote to the Quote Checker, that document may contain another business's pricing, branding, contact details and proprietary information. By uploading a document, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us for the purpose of obtaining an independent assessment, and you acknowledge that we may store and share it as described in this policy.

7. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This may involve cookies or similar technologies that collect non-identifying usage data. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not function correctly as a result.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information and any uploaded documents
• Withdraw consent for us to share your information with a Verified retailer (this may limit our ability to provide a comparison quote)
